TCVN 5672:2012 System of building design documents – Working documents- General principles

Foreword

TCVN 5672:2012 replaces TCVN 5672:1992.

TCVN 5672:2012 was transformed from TCVN 5672:1992 in accordance with clause 1, Article 69 of the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations and point b), clause 1, Article 6 of Decree 127/2007/ND-CP detailing the implementation of some articles of the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations.

TCVN 5672:2012 was compiled by the Institute of Architecture, Urban and Rural Planning – Ministry of Construction, proposed by the Ministry of Construction, appraised by the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality, and announced by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

1. Scope of application

This standard specifies the general requirements for construction drawing design documents.

2. Referenced documents

The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this standard. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

TCVN 3827:1983, Technical documents – Rules for recording revisions.

TCVN 3990:20121), System of construction design documents – Rules for registering and preserving the original design documents;

TCVN 5570:20121), System of design documents – Symbols of axes and lines in drawings;

TCVN 5571:20121), System of construction design documents – Construction drawings – Title block.

3. Composition of construction drawing design documents

3.1. The construction drawing design documents include:

– Explanatory documents and data serving as the basis for design;

– Drawing section;

– Technical and economic documents.

3.2. Depending on the nature of each project, the drawing section of the construction drawing design documents includes:

– Architectural drawings;

– Structural drawings;

– Electrical drawings;

– Plumbing drawings;

– Other technical drawings: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, communications, fire protection, interior and exterior decoration, acoustic solutions, etc.;

– Construction organization design drawings.

3.3. The technical and economic documents include: Construction project investment, cost estimate and other technical and economic data serving as the basis for calculating the project cost in the stages of investment preparation, construction preparation and installation.

3.4. The quantity of documents and drawings must be sufficient to clearly and accurately represent all the work that must be done to construct the project to meet the design requirements. The number of drawings and documents are recorded in the table of contents as specified in 4.8 and 4.9.

4. General requirements for construction drawing design documents

4.1. When preparing construction drawing design documents, it is required to ensure the requirements on the order of preparation and design in accordance with current regulations.

4.2. When preparing drawings and documents of construction drawing design documents, the following regulations must be complied with:

– Documents and explanations are presented on A4 paper size;

– Drawings are presented on paper sizes suitable to the design requirements.

4.3. The presentation of the drawing title block (dimensions, content, text, etc.) must comply with the regulations in TCVN 5571:2012.

– The title block must include full signatures of the lead designer, designer, draftsman, checker, the head of the design organization with legal status and the seal of the design agency;

– The main content of the drawing is clearly stated in the title block;

EXAMPLE: Floor plan of 1st floor.

– The drawing symbols written in the title block are abbreviated by a group of letters and a fraction.

EXAMPLE: KT 1/18 where the letters denote the name of the drawings belonging to which section (architecture, structure, electrical, plumbing, etc.). The numerator indicates the sequence number of the drawing, the denominator indicates the total number of drawing sheets in the project design drawing section.

4.4. The lines presented on the drawings must comply with the regulations in TCVN 5570:2012. When presenting drawings, it is necessary to choose the appropriate line width based on the drawing scale. The width of bold lines must be from 0.5 mm to 0.7 mm.

4.5. The selected drawing scale must ensure accurate and clear representation of the necessary details and must comply with relevant regulations.

4.6. Letters and numbers must be written clearly and accurately, not causing misunderstanding to readers, and need to be consistent throughout the drawings in terms of size and font.

4.7. The conventional symbols of the construction drawing design documents are abbreviated by the initial letters denoting the names of the drawing sections:

– Architectural drawings – symbol is KT;

– Structural drawings – symbol is KC;

– Electrical drawings – symbol is Đ;

– Plumbing drawings – symbol is N;

– Construction organization drawings – symbol is TCXD;

– …

The order of the drawings is numbered continuously throughout the construction drawing design documents as specified in 4.3.

4.8. The order of presentation in the drawing list is specified as follows: Architectural drawings, structural drawings, electrical drawings, plumbing drawings, and then other drawings – see the sample specified in Table 1.

4.9. The table of contents of the construction drawing design documents is presented according to the sample specified in Table 2.

4.10. After handing over the construction drawing design documents, it is not allowed to modify, add or remove drawings and documents. When necessary, it must be approved by the project owner and design organization. Revisions on drawings must comply with TCVN 3827:1983, have the signature of the responsible reviser, and must clearly state the full name and date of revision.

4.11. When presenting detail drawings, the following regulations must be complied with: details should be arranged on the same drawing sheet with the drawing containing the part requiring detail representation. In case of arrangement on a different drawing sheet, it is required to indicate the symbol of the drawing sheet that will present the detail drawing in accordance with relevant regulations.

4.12. When using structural members available in promulgated typical designs, it is required to clearly state the symbol, code, series, and set of typical designs used.

4.13. The preparation of tables and material lists must comply with relevant regulations. The material list must ensure sufficient requirements for the use of materials for the entire project, including components, construction and installation work items, and equipment of the building and project.

4.14. Cost estimates must be prepared on the basis of approved construction drawing designs and construction organization. Cost estimates must accurately reflect the volume of construction and installation work and requirements for the use of materials to construct the project, and at the same time must comply with regulations on cost estimate norms in capital construction.

4.15. The original construction drawing documents are stored and preserved at the design organization. During construction, changes at the site must be approved by the representatives of the project owner, design organization and supervising consultant, and at the same time must be recorded in the site diary before implementation. Upon completion of construction, it must be clearly reflected in the as-built drawings. The order of preparation, submission and archival storage of construction documents must comply with the regulations in TCVN 3990:2012.

4.16. Documents and drawings of the construction drawing documents are folded into A4 or A3 size and bound into a set. The cover of the document set must have a label stating the name of the construction project, name of the project owner, name of the design organization, and the date of completion of the construction drawing design documents.
