Glossary

Standardized characteristic markings placed on or attached to the surface of pedestrian walkways or other components to signal to persons with disabilities the abnormalities on the path.
The built architectural environment where persons with limited access can access and use the functional spaces within the construction.
The ability for persons with limited access to use housing and public constructions, transportation, information technology, cultural, sports, tourism services and other services appropriately to be able to integrate into the community.
Conditions of reduced or lost ability to see and perceive light, colors, images, and objects in normal lighting and environmental conditions. Persons with visual disabilities may have varying degrees such as: inability to distinguish between light and dark (complete blindness); limited vision field: inability to see to the sides, above or below; limited visual acuity; severe myopia; color blindness, glare from strong light.
Conditions of reduced or lost hearing and speech functions or both hearing and speech, unclear pronunciation of sounds and sentences leading to limitations in communication and verbal information exchange. Persons with hearing disabilities may have varying degrees such as: complete deafness; ability to hear only certain sound frequencies; occasional hearing difficulties.
Conditions of reduced or lost function of head, neck, legs, arms, and torso movement leading to limitations in mobility and travel. Persons with mobility disabilities have the ability to move independently with assistive devices such as wheelchairs, crutches, braces, orthopedic shoes, canes, and walkers.
Persons with defects in one or more body parts or with declined functions manifested in the form of disabilities that cause difficulties in labor, daily activities, and learning.
Pregnant women, persons with young children in strollers, persons with illness, persons with injuries leading to limited mobility and movement.
Persons aged 60 and above who experience aging leading to declined mobility, hearing, and visual functions.
Elderly people with declined body functions, persons with temporary mobility difficulties, persons with disabilities. NOTE: The subjects of persons with disabilities referred to in this regulation include: persons with mobility disabilities; persons with hearing and speech disabilities; persons with visual disabilities.
