Number of building stories
The number of stories of a building includes all above-ground stories (including technical floors, attic floors) and semi-/half-basement stories, excluding the loft floor.
NOTE 1: The attic floor is not counted in the number of building stories when it only serves the function of enclosing the stairwell/elevator shaft and shielding the building’s technical equipment (if any), with the roof area not exceeding 30% of the roof floor area.
NOTE 2: Only one mezzanine floor is not counted in the number of building stories if its floor area does not exceed 10% of the built floor area of the floor immediately below and its total floor area does not exceed 300 m2, when it only serves as a technical area (technical floor at the bottom of a swimming pool, floor for installing generators or other technical equipment of the building).
NOTE 3: For buildings with different ground elevations, the number of building stories is counted according to the lowest ground elevation in the approved plan.
